Drag and Drop Org Chart
Nov 30, 2005When working with large customers, it’s important to have an understanding of the account and contact hierarchies. You want to know who reports to who and whether or not a company is a subsidiary of a larger entity.
As many of you may well know this is standard functionality in Salesforce.com, but thanks to a free plug-in from Dream Factory, updating these hierarchies is easier than ever.
In a matter of minutes, you can create a custom link on the account and contact page. All you have to do is cut and paste the code below.
Once your org chart links are in place, your reps will have the ability to launch the org chart and make changes on the fly in a simple drag and drop interface.

linkid={!Account_ID}&
userid={!User_ID}

This totally roasted my web browser when I tried it - did anyone else have that happen?

Chris - It worked fine with Safari on my mac and Firefox on my pc. I think this is Amazing! Can we add an "Active" filter so it will only look at the active employees?

Firefox is totally supported, but doesn't automatically install the Dream Factory plug-in like IE does. Here are all the free installers on a page:

They want to run this one for Firefox:

I downloaded OrgView from the AppExchange and then when I went to click preview, I got a server error. Anyone else experience this? So I can't get it to work.
