Better Than Ever: The New Force.com AppExchange!

Sara Varni Mar 24, 2009

We've launched a new version of the AppExchange! The AppExchange product team has redesigned the site to make it even easier to find, try, and install over 750 cloud computing applications. Best of all, the new site has been built natively on the Force.com platform and makes use of Force.com Sites.

 New AppExchange

Check out all of the new features and enhancements including:
1. New App Lists
In addition to seeing the most popular apps and latest listings, you can now view top Force.com native solutions and staff recommended apps.
2. Multi-Dimensional Search
Search for apps by industry, edition, price, and function- all at the same time.
3. Product Comparison Matrix
Add up to three apps to your ‘Saved Apps’ section, and click ‘compare’ to see how apps stack up against each other in a side-by-side matrix.
4. Improved User Reviews
Rate apps on multiple dimensions like ease of use, support and value. Also, now you can comment on user reviews that are out of date or inaccurate.

We redesigned the site with one goal in mind: to make you more successful. Check out the site today and find the app that can extend your success with Salesforce CRM and the Force.com platform.

I like a lot of the changes, but I really miss getting a brief description without having to click into the app. Now all I can see without clicking on an app is the product name and the publisher, and often the publisher and product names are the same.

If you hover over the title of an app on the homepage, you will see the brief description of the app and its basic stats (star rating, etc.).

Also, we still provide the short app descriptions on our search results page so you can easily scan the features.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
