What is the best way to track leads from an inside sales rep to the outside sales rep, once it gets converted to an opportunity? Since you lose the Lead after it's converted and I want to make sure the inside rep gets credit, I am searching for a good tracking mechanism. I thought of the Campaign, but then someone has to add the Members every day. Thoughts?

So nothing to improve finding duplicate records. Would a couple of batch reports finding potential duplicate records really be that hard?

Re: data de-duping and merging - I couldn't agree more...
If I had known before signing-up for SF that their data de-duping was so poor I NEVER WOULD HAVE PURCHASED IT.
Instead of focusing on all of this other non-essential crap, SF should really be focusing on getting their basics right.
I should be able to de-dupe across leads AND contacts (wow, what a concept) both on existing records and imports. And there should be fuzzy and multi-match criteria.
This is so basic...I really shouldn't have to spend and extra $1500 a year on a third party app.
Seriously, i wish i could cancel my contract for this point alone - and it really, really angers me that SF isn't spending time on getting the basics right out of the box...
