Everyone knows the current salesforce.com logo - so, why change it? I never hear someone say that your logo is old fashioned or out of date. Clean text logos are all rage. Plus, the big puffy logo feels less professional and will take up 20 more pixels on the top of each salesforce.com page.

Saaspert

current logo is great, it's just the SaaS space which Salesforce.com is addressing is not just Sales any more, I would be more interested in seeing how Salesforce.com brand name can encompass other App functionality like SSS, Knowledge etc.

Brian

Should Salesforce update its grammar? Heh.

I like the logo.

David

The current logo allows for variations, such as on the certification logos and other things. The cloud and such are too graphical - not enough text.
Plus, it's inaccurate. The company is called salesforce.com, and the product is called Salesforce CRM. Concept #1 is neither of those.

Jeff

Keep the current logo, i understand the push toward 'cloud computing' but I personally don't think it clean.

Nancy

Although I am partial to the snappy little international "NO" sign, I slightly prefer the current log, I don't think the cloud is an enhancement - it's slightly distracting.

Geeta

Actually I quite like the "no-software" wheel / disk. I have seen it in some of your official communication / proposals etc and I have come to identify the no-software disk with sales force. It is a strong impact / retention imagery for me. My 2c: drop the cloud, keep the old logo but try and use the wheel/ disk. Besides the disk addresses the SaaS space too.

I like the current logo more.

Ryuji Enoki

I like current Logo .The new cloud logo is good as a preso deck logo, but as company logo on official name card, the current one looks much more official.

fractastical

Current logo is fine.

BC

The "Concept #1" design makes it look like you're selling an air freshener product.

Kristine

You should leave the logo as it is. The concept logo would be very challenging for print, partners, etc. to utilize. If you developed a concept logo that was more readily usable by all means of distribution that may work.

Isaac

Like current, very nice and clear.

Setupforce

The current logo is far better (although still confusing - see below)

Personally, I feel that the cloud picture makes the logo look too informal and perhaps unprofessional.

Also, use of a cloud at this time could be confusing: there seems to be no concensus on what "Cloud Computing" actually means. Different industies / sectors/ experts have different ideas of the meaning.

I also dislike the No Software logo; as a developer I love writing apex and visualforce code; puzzling to see that logo as I'm coding, testing and deploying my software. In what is becoming a highly competive space (platform as a service) this is also confusing.

Tom

Keep the current logo.

Vicki

"Cloud Computing" phrase gets sighs of, 'oh yeah', when I talk about it, since no one seems to know clearly what it means.
Also, the puffy logo isn't as clean as the current. Current logo is great!
As someone has said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Carol

Keep the current logo. The "no software" button does not sit well for SalesForce users that are in the software business.

agluewvrs

Current logo is cleaner.

The only way salesforce.com should consider moving to a logo "in the cloud" is if salesforce.com is certain the "cloud" terminology isn't going to evolve any further in the near future. We went from "on demand" to "cloud" in about a web2.0 nanosecond, who's to say that won't change again?

I also tend to agree with Setupforce, "No Software" is misleading since there's a ton of development work on the force.com platform. The leading charge for why companies should go in the cloud is to not have on-site servers to worry about.

I saw a guy's shirt from one of the Dreamforce '08 images, it read "Save Time, not Servers"... that's pretty great.

my 2 cents..(or 4 cents rather...)

Charlie

leave it alone. concept 1 looks too "cartoonish"

Eric

In the circles I run in, it's the "no software" slogan draws a "huh?" I'm not sure the cloud looks very professional.

Carol Koenig

Hi - whilst I love anything to do with design improvement - I am confused as to why Salesforce percieves a need to change it - maybe you guys have too much time on your hands??

I agree with a lot of the previous comments and only read them after writing my thoughts! Also, given the major impact of Cloud on improving Climate change - the TShirt "Saving Time - Not Servers" is not very diplomatic or supportive of Climate issues - So "Saving Time whilst Saving the Planet" seems more realistic.

I don't see any point in changing the logo for several reasons:

1) The Concept#1 logo is a bit Mickey Mouse and kind of unprofessional - it looks more like a logo for something you wouldn't take that seriously - also, it is a bit confusing with the 'No Software' button, which is an insult to Software Developers - and a bit nuts because Salesforce is software, it just resides in the Cloud.

2) I think the comment "Success, not Software" is far more appropriate and also says what it needs to say with a little more class than the 'gamesy' button, which 'no entry' sign creates a negative feeling that one is being prevented from doing something - and we've all had enough of rules.

3) You would need to re-issue all training certificates with the updated logos if you changed the logo so people's cv's reflect anything curently marketed.

4) The logo you currently use would have recieved a huge amount of exposure with the interest in cloud computing and the success/viral success of salesforce - why waste that and the money that has gone into it? Brand recognition is hugely important.

5) Every man and his dog involved in Cloud is using the cloud symbol - not very original anymore, and if you paid someone to come up with that, you were robbed. If you want originality, it would be far better to put it out as a competition to your users to come up with designs and give them a terrific prize for getting a design through for consideration - or something like that... you know, give back to the people that keep you were you are.

6) Changed logo's can send hidden messages (we are under new management); (we are trying to hide/are embarrassed about something we did under the old logo); and besides, people HATE change!

7) and most important of all - If it ain't broke - don't break it!!!!

If you guys have got money to burn on logo design, put it towards reducing the price of your product - my only beef is it is hellishly expensive and I would have more users on it if I could afford to!!!! So seeing this kind of time/money waste just cheeses me off - the more users you get, the cheaper the product should become - work on brand loyalty and longevity instead. :)

Cheers, C :)

manjeet

I believe you guys have awesome logo. That would be a mistake if you change it...

Tim

There isn't really a polite way to say this, the cloud looks like clipart and the button feels 1987. Keep the old one. The red "S" in the square is a much better identifier than the No-Software button.

EGA Futura Software

Keep the old one.

Doug

I'll support the earlier comments:
- the cloud logo and term is way overused - resist the temptation
- kill the No Software button - its really No Server

Stick with what you've got with the "success" theme
