Introducing touch.salesforce.com: touch success
Our PCs are being displaced by a dizzying array of touch-optimized mobile devices. These devices are now designed to be more than smartphones and tablets, and they eventually may be your next generation PC.
The buying shift is already happening as smartphones and tablets outsell PCs today. More than half of large enterprise CIOs told Morgan Stanley they plan to buy tablets for their employees this year. And Gartner estimates that 90% of CIO’s will support corporate applications on their employees’ personal mobile devices by 2014.
The problem, personal devices span an unpredictable mix of mobile platforms led by Android, followed by Apple iOS. User expectations are rising too - employees expect to leverage their phones and tablets to collaborate with their customers just like they interact with their friends and co-workers for status updates and photos. It’s all happening now, and it’s all happening very quickly.
What does this all mean? It means we’re ready for touch.salesforce.com.

At Dreamforce 2011, we are proud to unveil touch.salesforce.com, a new version of salesforce.com redesigned specifically to work on touch screens. Using the open standard HTML5 technology, touch.salesforce.com will allow you to access Salesforce from virtually any smartphone and tablet. Best of all, your customizations and recently accessed items will travel seamlessly among all of your mobile devices, whether it’s your laptop, smart phone or tablet.
The first release is currently scheduled to be generally available in early 2012 and will focus on Sales Cloud objects and related customizations.
