Value too large max length:20 Your Length :22

This indicates that one of the fields you have defined is only 20 chars long, however the data you are sending is 22 chars long

API is not enabled for this organizatio or Partner

This indicates that the org has no API access and you must use the Professional Edition version of the excel connector rather than the Enterprise Edition.

at the moment you cannot limit who can use the connector within your org, if the user has access to the API , they can use it.

Soon there will be a comercial version that will allow read only access, see ForceAmp.com

Hi
I am getting an error when trying to use sforce_connect.xla.
The error message is:
sforce_connect1.xls could not be found. Check the spelling and filename and verify the location is correct.
The file is in my add- in folder.
I am not sure why the error message calls it sforce_connect *1*.xls, because the file is not called this in my folder. I was able to use it the other day.

Attempting to view the code in the Microsoft Visual Basic
editor (via alt-F11) I was prompted for a password. What is the
password?

I have salesforce professional and am using Excel Sforce connector. I have tried loggin in to the visual basic code as instructed in the instructions by pressing alt F11. This works but when I try to view the sforce_connector code it prompts for a sforce_connector password. I have tried using my salesforce password but that doesnt work. What is the password I should be using.

To Don: Perhaps you could take a look at Apatar, a free tool that links data between Excel files, databases, and SalesForce.Com, without having to write a single line of code. Users install a visual application, link data between the source(s) and the target(s), and schedule one-time or recurring data transformations. Apatar Features:
1. Visual job designer and mapping enable non-developers to design and perform transformations.
2. Connectivity to CSV, TXT, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, FTP, HTTP (POST and GET), Compiere ERP, Goldmine CRM, XML (local and web-based), Webdav, Buzzsaw, LDAP, Amazon and even Flickr;
3. Job Scheduling

I have been told that the excel connector can be used to import data into the team edition however I don't see a download for that edition. Customer support assured me it is possible but they don't "support" the connector and have no more information for me. Any information would be most appriciated.

I just learned about the mass update capability for the professional edition (the self proclaimed "gold standard" btw) and am still very much pissed at the fact that we have to scramble to get a workaround working for a basic functionality which is pretty obviously missing in salesforce.

I would like to know who long it will take until the mass update capability is embedded in salesforce without us having to spend precious time getting your unprofessional "Professional Editon" to work?
