Enhanced Activity Management

Better Collaboration Fosters Greater Productivity

Act_mgmt_thum

  • Make time management a breeze with a graphical calendar
  • Collaborate more easily with an enhanced activity sharing model

Winter ’07 promises to delight users with a new calendar interface that is easier and faster to use. In team-oriented environments, employees can now effectively collaborate through a shared calendar of activities, while maintaining flexible control of tasks.

Training, Documentation, & Best Practices

Feature Details

  • New Calendar User Interface: Users can see a snapshot of an event’s details (based on sharing settings) by simply mousing over an item, rather than needing to click on the item to drill in. Overlapping meetings are displayed side-by-side for easier conflict resolution. Weekly views allow users to include or exclude weekends and to display the calendar, event list, or task list when printed.
  • Enhanced Sharing Model: Winter ’07 introduces an additional security preference on activities that enables the sharing settings of a parent record, such as an account or opportunity, to control the sharing of its related activities. For example, when this organization-level preference is selected, an account team member with read access to an account will have read access to all activities associated with that account regardless of activity owner. (Unlimited, Enterprise, and Professional Editions Only)

Wow. Salesforce continues to amaze me with your adaptability and ability to read my mind. This is exactly the feature that I needed and I thank you so much...Now all I need to know is when can I get this updated in my system so I can see it ASAP

Glad to see this is coming in the near future. We've been hoping to switch from Outlook to Salesforce for our calendaring, but surprised to find Outlook calendaring much more advanced than Salesforce, hopefully this will make a big difference!

Cant wait. We have been unwilling to use the SF calendar feature to date - and look forward to integrating this final chunk of shared information into SF.
