Salesforce Features
Pop-Up Reminders
Keep Organized with Pop-up Reminders
- Stay on top of tasks and meet your deadlines
- Deepen customer relationships by never forgetting to follow up
- Personalize when and how you’d like to be reminded
Users can now set up reminders for calendar events and tasks such as customer follow-ups. At the appropriate time, a pop-up window and a sound alarm will alert the user and provide one-click access to relevant details of the event or task. Users can snooze or dismiss reminders. Users can also personalize reminders by setting default reminder intervals and turning the sound on or off.
This feature is available in all Editions.

Very cool! Do you really mean Winter 07 and not 06? It will be worth the wait.

Any difference than Microsoft outlook? What is the improvement over that system?

Please don't call the releases Winter and Summer like the other vendors do!
It may be Winter for you, but in other parts of the world it's Summer! :-))
Give each release a name that is international!
Cheers

This is awesome, another feature to lure more people to use salesforce to do things they are already use to.

Are you serious Dave? Don't you have anything better to do than whine about the name of a release?
I for one don't care what it's called- just bring on the improvements!

Any time I can have my Sales group keep info in one place is better for the team, using SF.com to send email and mark reminders is a good thing..

I just want to know the DATE of the release. When is it?

Are these reminders Windows-only? If they were Safari-compatible, you'd make a lot of your Mac customers very very happy!

I see that the screenshot is from a firefox browser. Since you guys use firefox at salesforce, do you think you could make a thunderbird integration for us mac users?

I've been waiting for Pop-Up Reminders. Can you give me a more accurate date than winter 07? Winter in my state is in early months of 07 & later months of 07.

Here is a post that lists the upgrade schedule for when you will be live with Winter '07.

Not to be a stick-in-the mud, but if you use Salesforce Outlook Edition (latest version) to sync between Outlook calendar and Salesforce, the reminder is not synchronized. Create an event in your Outlook calendar with a 30-minute reminder, then do the sync. You'll notice that the event in Salesforce doesn't even have the reminder box checked! Conversely, if you create the event in Salesforce first with any other time value besides 15 minutes, when it syncs to Outlook it will always be set to 15 minutes. It uses your default setting in "setup" rather than the actual time value for the event, itself. This is a great feature for those without email clients, but if you use Outlook and sync to Salesforce, I actually think it's a painful oversight.

I agree with Bobby B. that this POP UP reminder has great potential but I was really hoping for more. I use Outlook extensively and was planning to sync it with SF. My main complaint with Outlook has always been that there was no way to have a 'contact flag' do a reminder - I was really hoping that SF would be more comprensive. Any suggestions other than getting all of my Outlook contacts converted?

I'm curious to know if any of you would appreciate a much more comprehensive reminder functionality with Salesforce. At bigdates we don't just remind you, we remind you how you want (email, cell, desktop, RSS), we suggest appropriate ecards, paper cards and gifts as well. We have an import feature you can easily use to import your clients from Salesforce. Also you can automate the process of sending cards and gift cards to your best clients. At BigDates Solutions we are contemplating building an app such as this for the appexchange platform. Would this be of interest. Please let me know your thoughts by emailing me at paul@bigdates.com
