Imagine how productive your teams would be if they had single-click access to everything they needed to do their jobs. With the new Salesforce Console in Winter ’07, users can have a customized Salesforce desktop that consolidates information in one spot and allows them to swiftly complete their task with the fewest clicks and minimal screen refresh. In the spirit of the familiar, user-friendly Salesforce interface, the Salesforce Console is a highly optimized, AJAX-based Web desktop that provides an even better user experience for teams in support, sales, telemarketing, and other departments.

Feature Details

  • Dynamic Ajax User Interface: The Salesforce Console provides desktop-like interactivity and efficiency with dynamic capabilities such as edit in place, local refresh, expandable related lists, and auto server polling. No plug-ins or client software is required.
  • List Views for Easy Navigation: Persistent list views allow efficient navigation between list and detail pages with fewer clicks. Select between object list views with simple drop-down selectors.
  • Consistent Page Views: The efficient layout of cases, leads, and other objects will be familiar to Salesforce users.
  • Supporting Related Information: Related lists can be expanded in place rather than taking you to a new screen of the related list items. Related information is efficiently shown in summary form in the right-hand pane, providing additional context to the user. This makes the desktop much more dynamic and maintains context.
  • Fully Customizable Setup: Administrators can define multiple console layouts and assign them to user profiles. The console automatically delivers information in the appropriate layout for every user.

Could you make the picture larger ... I can't see any the details :(

I agree. Make the picture larger...I can't see the details :o(

Also, I'm hoping that with these changes, the pages detail will be more customizable... being able to move fields around...Edit/Add Notes within the Problem/Enhanement/customer Support Account pages...

More flexibility with customization of headers for different sections and the fields I want to apply to those sections.

I now fixed the picture so that when you select on it - you have a bigger/clearer view.

I can not see data, back ground is entirely in black. What can I do to fix? I can not find a link to customize layout or back ground.. This is impossible to work with!

Are you talking about the image when you select on it? Give it a few seconds to load - that is likely the issue.

This looks like a nice way to be more productive using existing features. What's the rationale not to make it available to Team customers?

If I do hold a professional license, where would I get this from?

Is anyone having issues with setting up the console? I've created it in my developer edition and it works fine. Then I created it in our company edition and the mini layouts don't show the select fields or associated information. Also, if you click on Account, the mini-layouts go away altogether and there doesn't seem to be a way to get back to them.

Is anyone having a problem with the list view in the console? I have one set up an Opportunity Console. When I use the search box or select another item to view from the account info in the mini console the list view does not change to correspond??
