This feature is available in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions.

  • Instantly approve or reject items without leaving your inbox
  • Improve communication by adding comments to approvals

With the last release (Winter ’07), salesforce.com pushed the envelope on business process enablement in an on-demand environment with powerful new features for workflow and approvals. Spring ’07 brings additional approval functionality with the ability to approve or reject requests and even add comments by email, an especially useful feature for heavy users of BlackBerries and other mobile email devices.

This feature is disabled by default but can be enabled by the organization’s salesforce.com administrator.

Feature Details

  • Reply to Approve/Reject: An approver can simply reply to an emailed approval request from Salesforce to approve (by replying “approve,” “approved,” or “yes”) or reject (by replying “reject,” “rejected,” or “no”) the request as well as include additional comments.
  • Error Messages: Only email addresses validated in Salesforce (associated in the application with a Salesforce user) can approve or reject workflow requests. If the response is sent from an unvalidated address (for example, if someone forwarded the message to a different email address or to a non-Salesforce user), an error email is sent to the approver.
