Managed Tagging Rules
Flexible Tagging Options to Meet Diverse Business Needs
Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Editions; Requires an Additional Fee
- Simplify the tagging process for publishers and users
- Balance control and user empowerment in tag usage
- Apply different tag models based on varying business needs
The Spring ’08 release of Salesforce Content provides greater flexibility and control in aligning how users tag content. In addition to the original open tagging approach, Salesforce Content offers two other options for managing tags in Spring ’08. Administrators can vary the tagging model by workspace, thus locking down tags for static content like forms and policies, while maintaining a more collaborative approach for dynamic content.
- Guided Tagging: Administrators can recommend a specific set of tags for a workspace, while still allowing users the option of creating their own tags.
- Restricted Tagging: For the ultimate level of control, administrators can limit users to a fixed set of tags, ensuring consistency in the classification of corporate content.
Note: Salesforce Content is a fee-based license option that is available for Professional, Enterprise, and Unlimited Edition customers. It is available in English only. You can license Salesforce Content for existing Salesforce CRM or Platform Edition subscribers as well as for individuals who do not currently have a Salesforce license.
