With Spring 08, the Salesforce partner portal lets salesforce.com customers strengthen their partner communities and provide partners with a richer end user experience. With the Salesforce partner portal, customers can provide all of the benefits of the Force.com platform for their partners, including s-controls, Web tabs, and the unlimited interface design capabilities of Visualforce when it becomes generally available in 2008. The new capabilities delivered with the Salesforce partner portal include:
- Support for S-Controls, Web Tabs, and Custom Links: Provide your partners with a rich interactive user experience by leveraging s-controls, Web-tabs and custom links in the partner portal.
- Tasks on Portal Homepage: Provides partners with a consolidated list of all their tasks on the partner portal homepage. Partners no longer need to click into every lead, opportunity, or custom object to see the tasks they need to complete—they can see them the moment they log in.
- Password Reset: Reduce the administrative burden on your channel managers and/or partner operations by allowing partners to reset their own passwords.
- Printer Friendly View: Partner sales reps can take a lead or opportunity and print it in a printer friendly format so they can take the details with them when they aren’t connected.
Note: This feature is enabled by default for all new Salesforce Partners (formerly Salesforce PRM) customers. Salesforce.com recommends that existing Salesforce Partners customers wait until the Summer 08 release to migrate to the next generation partner portal. However, you can request to migrate sooner by contacting the Salesforce Partners product management team.
