With Spring ’08, administrators can create opportunity rollups on accounts that aggregate key opportunity metrics. This feature makes it possible to answer questions such as: Which accounts have the most opportunities? Which accounts have zero opportunities? What is the total value of the deals won for an account? What about the total value of deals lost? With this feature, it has never been easier to get a quick overview of key account opportunity metrics, without ever leaving the accounts tab.

  • Exception Reporting: You can create an opportunity rollup summary field that counts the number of opportunities for each account and reports on all accounts for which that field is zero.
  • Opportunity Line Item Discount Summary: By using formula fields and rollup summary fields, you can calculate the average discount that a particular account receives across all its opportunities

Note: This feature is enabled by default, but customization by an administrator in the set up area of Salesforce is required to use it.
