Generally available in Spring ’08, Salesforce Ideas helps companies build their own online communities to collaborate with customers, partners, or employees in an interactive, online forum.
- Departmental Communities: You can create a community site for an individual department in your company so teammates can easily share best practices and ideas.
- Employee Communities: Deploy an online community across your entire employee base, breaking down organizational barriers, fostering cross-team collaboration, and fueling a culture of employee-led innovation.
- Customer Communities: You can deploy Salesforce Ideas to your customer base through the Salesforce Customer Portal, to capture product feedback, and reduce incoming support inquiries.
Note: With Spring ’08, Salesforce Ideas, previously in limited release, is generally available to create communities made up of existing Salesforce CRM or Platform Edition subscribers. It is also available for your customer and partner communities through Salesforce Partners and Salesforce Customer Portal. Salesforce Ideas is not automatically visible to users. The application is enabled, but requires some setup.
