Spring '08 streamlines the deployment of code and metadata changes from sandbox to production. Leveraging the power of the Metadata API, you can now use the Force.com Toolkit for Eclipse or any tool to easily copy custom fields, custom objects, picklists, record types, scontrols, documents, folders, and apex classes and triggers that you develop in sandbox into production.
- Setup Migration Between Orgs: Development most often happens in a sandbox or Developer Edition environment. Now you can select the changes made in these orgs and push them into a production org once they have been thoroughly tested.
- Application Testing Within Different Orgs: Partner developers frequently want to test in orgs with different data sets. Now they can sign up an additional org, load the desired data, then use the Toolkit to push their application into the org and test.
