Weaving The Business Web™
- Increase developer productivity with more powerful APIs
- Improve performance of your integrations – get more data with fewer calls
- Eliminate need for polling Salesforce by leveraging real-time notifications
- Load and synchronize external data with ease
The Apex API is the key to how salesforce.com enables The Business Web. Just like consumer Web services such as Google, Yahoo!, Amazon.com, and eBay, salesforce.com opens its services to the public to allow you to customize and integrate Salesforce for your business and to enable an ecosystem of developers and software providers to build applications to meet the needs of the salesforce.com community.
Winter ’07 introduces Apex API 8.0, salesforce.com’s most ambitious API release to date. Apex API 8.0 incorporates your most frequently requested enhancements to create an API that is more powerful and efficient than ever before.
This feature is available in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions.

Google OneBox for Enterprise
Salesforce.com’s partnership with Google, the global leader in
search, makes it even easier to access critical business information
stored in Salesforce and AppExchange applications. Google OneBox for
Enterprise is a new feature of the Google Search Appliance, a piece of
hardware you can purchase from Google and install behind your firewall.
Now, in the same way that you can find information on stock tickers or
weather on Google.com, you can use the Salesforce OneBox modules to
quickly look up account, contact, or opportunity information from
inside Salesforce, using search modules codeveloped by salesforce.com
and Google.
This feature is works with professional, enterprise, and unlimited edition.
Salesforce Connector For SAP R/3
With Summer ’06, salesforce.com introduces Salesforce Connector for
SAP R/3, scheduled for availability in July 2006. Salesforce Connector
for SAP R/3 enables customers to quickly implement packaged integration
of Salesforce with their back-office SAP R/3 to deliver an integrated
and consistent view of relevant customer data. The new connector
enables synchronization of account information between Salesforce and
SAP R/3 while significantly reducing the time, expense, and effort
required to integrate the two systems.
This feature is available in Enterprise and Unlimited Edition.
AppExchange API 7.0
With the Winter ’06 release, salesforce.com is upgrading the
AppExchange API (previously known as the Sforce Web services API). As
always, considerable effort has been made to ensure backward
compatibility for applications that have been written against previous
versions of the SOAP API, starting with API 2.5. (Note: older XML-RPC
APIs should remain unchanged with this release.) The new AppExchange
API 7.0 provides a number of powerful enhancements that further improve
any integration already in place between Salesforce and your other
systems.
This feature is available in Enterprise and Unlimited Edition.
Import Wizard with De-Duplication
Import is receiving major enhancements in the Summer ’05 release in
response to customer feedback. De-duplication functionality for leads
and contacts helps you keep your Salesforce data clean. In addition, we
have made significant improvements in import performance.
This feature is available across all editions.
Apex Data Loader
Prior to Summer ’05, loading data in Salesforce was accomplished
through import wizards or by using Apex API directly. The Apex data
loader is an easy-to-use, highly scalable data management tool that can
perform large uploads of data, mass updates, mass deletes, and exports
for any object (Salesforce, Supportforce, and custom objects).
This feature is available in Enterprise and Unlimited Editions.
