Have a Great Idea? Shoot Us an Email.
With Summer '08 there is a slick new feature called Email-to-Apex. The other day Rasmus posted some sample code which lets customers submit ideas via email.
You can imagine a TV commercial or an in-store promo which says, "Have a great idea? Email it to myidea@acme.com." To reduce duplicate requests you would probably want to incorporate some additional logic. For example, you might have an auto-response email which says, "Thanks for your feedback. We found a couple similar ideas. Do you
still want to submit your idea or would you rather cast a vote for one
of the ideas below?" This same Email-to-Apex Code might be used for casting votes or adding comments to an idea. With the Force.com platform there are all kinds of possibilities.
