Its just that easy
Feb 20, 2008'Salesforce.com has made giant strides in making it easy to rollout a Mobile solution to your users... and you may think we are sitting back enjoying our success. Nothing could be further from the truth. For all our overworked Salesforce Administrators who are too busy to add one more project to their long list, Salesforce Mobile recently introduced the 'Zero Administrator option'.
Just go ahead and enable mobile for the user on their user record...
And thrust a BlackBerry or Windows Mobile device into the users hand and have them go to Mobile.salesforce.com/setup from their mobile browser. This URL will download the Salesforce Mobile Client, prompt them to login and they are up and running in minutes.
But, but, but... what about mobile data sets, what about mobile configurations... well we have created a special configuration to help get your users started. This configuration provides access to the following objects:
- Account
- Contact
- Task
- Event
- Opportunity
- Case (BlackBerry)
- Solution (BlackBerry)
- Lead
The default mobile configuration also downloads some data (but not too much), all tasks due in the next 7 days and all events due in the next 7 days, and of course any related Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities, Cases and Leads.
Since it is now easier than ever to search Salesforce.com from Salesforce Mobile, users can just search and open records to gradually populate their mobile device with the data they need most.
Remember, if you are an Unlimited Edition customer, you already have Salesforce Mobile licenses and for Professional or Enterprise Edition customers, its easy to add Salesforce Mobile licenses to your existing Salesforce Org.
The fun doesn't stop there. In the Summer '08 release, we will automatically mobilize the users recent items list right from Salesforce.com, so that their device has the very data that they most recently accessed online. See 'Mobilize Recent Items'.
