  • Salesforce Mobile for iPhone client v3.0.1 is available on App Store!

    Pierpaolo Bergamo Mar 15, 2009

What are the fixes in iPhone v3.0.1?

    • Offline Creation of Records and Related Records - In prior versions of the application, the synchronization process may not have worked properly when users created child records of a temporary record while offline. The latest version of the client does not allow users to create child records of a temporary record. Users must wait until the device synchronizes with Salesforce and the record is saved.
    • Search Results and Logging a Call - When logging a call from a record in the Search Results page, the client did not populate the fields automatically. The latest version works as expected.

How do I install it on my iPhone or iPod touch?

    • The new client is now available on App Store. Tap the App Store icon on your iPhone and search for Salesforce Mobile.

  • Salesforce CRM Mobile for BlackBerry client v11.0.4 is available for download!

    Pierpaolo Bergamo Mar 12, 2009

What are the fixes in BlackBerry v11.0.4?

    • Populating Reference Fields - In specific conditions, the client previously did not show the list of records when editing a look-up (reference) field. Now the list of records displays correctly.
    • Importing Contacts and Other Data from BlackBerry Native Apps - After an unexpected shutdown of the application, the user could not import data from the BlackBerry Contact Manager and Calendar. The new version works as expected.
    • Importing Contacts with No Entry in the State Field - When importing a contact from the BlackBerry native application, if the contact had no entry in the State field, the record was imported without the ZIP code and country. In the latest version, ZIP code and country are imported correctly.
    • Filter and Hyphens - In the latest version of the client, a hyphen is treated like the beginning of a word, so if the user filters using the text 'EXAMPLE', the record name 'AN-EXAMPLE' will match.
    • Lockout and Passcode - Lockout screen previously did not work correctly in some situations where the administrator changed the timeout length after a low memory condition. The latest client works correctly.
    • 'Resource Not Found' Error - Older versions of the BlackBerry operating systems (v4.1 and older) have a limitation in terms of the number of strings that can be used by each application. v11.0.4 works around this limitation so that the 'Resource Not Found' error message no longer displays.

How do I get the new client for my BlackBerry phone?

    • Users that have never installed the application before can navigate to the following URL from a mobile device: http://mobile.salesforce.com/setup.
    • For users on v10.0.0 or greater, upgrade by opening the System Info page and selecting Upgrade from the menu (or use the URL http://mobile.salesforce.com/setup).
    • For users on v9 or older, do not use the standard URL. Please use this URL on your device instead:
      http://mobile.salesforce.com/console/loader/jadloader/WSFA/unknown/

Client versions 9.0 and earlier do not support the new upgrade process. It is necessary to download the 'legacy' loader that uninstalls the older version for the application. This does not impact users that have the application installed via BES Push or self-hosted binaries (JAD package).
