  • Migrate from the Mobile Legacy Console to the New MAC now

    Larry Robinson May 20, 2009

With the Summer ’09 release, we are continuing our innovation in the Mobile Admin Console (MAC) to bring mobile users enhanced features and performance.   If you received an email alert from Salesforce.com informing you that users at your company are using the legacy Sendia console, you will need to migrate them to the MAC after the Summer ’09 release.

    What is the change?

We will no longer support our customers on the legacy Sendia console after July 15th, 2009.  A final reminder will be sent in July. After this date, the legacy console will be disabled.

    What action should I take?

You should migrate all legacy console users to the new MAC to take advantage of the many benefits available on the new infrastructure. Benefits include improved support, enhanced options for data set management, improved features to deploy Visualforce applications, and better user and device management.

How do I successfully migrate my users?

    1. Read the Legacy Console to MAC Migration Guide.

    2. Attend a special webinar to walk through the steps necessary to successfully migrate your users:

What happens if I don’t migrate my users in time?

If you are unable to migrate your users by July 15th, 2009, Salesforce.com will automatically disable legacy console users and they will be prompted to re-activate their Salesforce mobile client.  If these users have the ‘Mobile User’ option selected on their User record or the Org has Mobile Lite enabled, they will be automatically migrated to the new MAC.  If they are not assigned to a Mobile Configuration, they will inherit the default Mobile Configuration which provides access to the standard salesforce.com objects and provides a limited set of data on the device.
