Jason McDowall Oct 30, 2009What bug fixes are included in BlackBerry v11.6.1?
This version (v11.6.1) includes several big fixes:- New Branding - We love the new cloud icon.
- Dashboards and other VF pages were not accessible: In the previous version, some users using the BIS to connect to the internet were not able to access Dashboards, the Help tab, or Visualforce pages. This bug is fixed.
- Reports tab was missing search bar: This functionality disappeared in v11.6. This bugs is fixed.
- Products list views were slow to load: A change in v11.6 caused a performance problem when viewing lists of products. This bug is fixed.
- Case Comments were listed alphabetically: These historical comments should be listed by date/time by default. This bug is fixed.
- Wrong connection type displayed: The System Info screen was showing the device was connected to MDS or BES when BIS was selected. This bug is fixed.
- Custom TextArea fields were limited: The client was not allowing users to enter text to the full length of custom TextArea fields. This bug is fixed.
- Log-a-Call Logic changed: In v11.6, calls initiated from Salesforce Mobile where logged as having a duration of one hour (albeit this duration could be edited by the user in the log). This fix captures an accurate duration, bringing it in line with other related improvements in 11.6.

This version (v11.6) improves the general performance of the application and adds two important features: support for Content and greater data transport security.- Content: take your documents on the go! If you are using Content in Salesforce, you can preview presentations, sales literature and other documents, and send them to prospects from your BlackBerry.
- Data security: data transfers have always been secured by AES 256 bit encryption. And now the data transfers also use SSL, the industry standard protocol to initiate a secure connection.

- If you are running v11.0.6, follow these steps
- Run the application.
- Open the menu, then select System Info.

Salesforce CRM Mobile for BlackBerry client v11.0.4 is available for download!
Pierpaolo Bergamo Mar 12, 2009What are the fixes in BlackBerry v11.0.4?
- Populating Reference Fields - In specific conditions, the client previously did not show the list of records when editing a look-up (reference) field. Now the list of records displays correctly.
- Importing Contacts and Other Data from BlackBerry Native Apps - After an unexpected shutdown of the application, the user could not import data from the BlackBerry Contact Manager and Calendar. The new version works as expected.
- Importing Contacts with No Entry in the State Field - When importing a contact from the BlackBerry native application, if the contact had no entry in the State field, the record was imported without the ZIP code and country. In the latest version, ZIP code and country are imported correctly.
- Filter and Hyphens - In the latest version of the client, a hyphen is treated like the beginning of a word, so if the user filters using the text 'EXAMPLE', the record name 'AN-EXAMPLE' will match.
- Lockout and Passcode - Lockout screen previously did not work correctly in some situations where the administrator changed the timeout length after a low memory condition. The latest client works correctly.
- 'Resource Not Found' Error - Older versions of the BlackBerry operating systems (v4.1 and older) have a limitation in terms of the number of strings that can be used by each application. v11.0.4 works around this limitation so that the 'Resource Not Found' error message no longer displays.

Salesforce CRM Mobile for BlackBerry client v11.0.3 is available for download!
Pierpaolo Bergamo Feb 4, 2009What are the fixes in BlackBerry v11.0.3?
- Edit and Mandatory Fields - The client used to submit mandatory fields even when unchanged. This could potentially result in truncation of some data. The latest version of the client submits only the changed fields.
- New Activities and Name Field - When creating a new activity from the Open Activities or Activity History relates lists, the Name field was not automatically populated in the new record. The latest version fixes this problem.
- Exporting Contacts to the Native Contact Application - An empty contact record was exported from Salesforce CRM Mobile to the device's native Contact application even when all the required fields were not populated. v11.0.3 does not export the contact record in such cases.
- Case History and Missing Fields - Old Value and New Value fields were not displayed in Case History. The client now shows the fields correctly.
