  • Salesforce.com Acquires InStranet, Bringing Industry-Leading Knowledge Base Technology to Salesforce CRM Customer Service & Support

    On our Q2 financial results call, we informed the world that InStranet is part of salesforce.com. InStranet is an industry-leading knowledge base technology company. 

    Why are we adding InStranet's knowledge base to Salesforce CRM Customer Service & Support? In short, we believe in this technology and the people behind InStranet. Most of all, we're impressed by what customers have been able to accomplish with it. InStranet has solved the customer service and support challenge by taking a completely different approach to knowledge base technology. InStranet’s patented Dimensions technology adds a customer’s context, such as product or geography, to the knowledge base to quickly hone in on the right solution and eliminate irrelevant search results.

    Salesforce.com was founded in 1999 with a simple vision: to deliver business applications that were as easy to use and run as Web applications like Amazon.com and eBay. Ten years later, we're more dedicated than ever to leading the transition to Software as a Service (SaaS).  And with the Force.com Platform as a Service, it is now possible to build, test, and deploy any application as a service.
