  • A note from AppExchange Product Management...

    Chung Nguyen Apr 27, 2009

After great demand from our partner community, we've made a few changes to the AppExchange. These changes include how we handle duplicate user activities (e.g demo, test drive, get it now, and learn more) and some usability enhancements around the screenshot viewer.

    Duplicate User Activities:

    • When a user takes an action more than once on the same listing within a 6 month period, we mark that action as duplicate.
    • The leads created from duplicate actions are flagged with --dup- in the lead source field (in the same way that it was before the new site went live). For example, you may receive a lead source SFDC-dup-DM | My Application Title. This allows partners to create business logic to handle duplicate leads in different ways.
    • Duplicate actions are no longer included in the counts you see on the Publishing pages of AppExchange. This will not affect past actions, but will affect all future actions. We want to provide you the most accurate impression of the impact that your AppExchange listing is making.

    Screenshot Viewer:

    • We increased the viewable area to show images that are 750 x 500 pixels (the max we can  show on 1024 x 768 monitors).
    • We no longer scale images in any way. This means that your images never look distorted or fuzzy. We do however clip the images at 750 x 500 max size. If you upload or have uploaded a larger image than this, you will only see the center 750 x 500 pixels of your image.
    • We improved the performance of the screenshot viewer, so you'll see images faster.

  • Request: Support for Karen Stock

    Leslie Tom Apr 1, 2009

A member of our partner community, Karen Mellow Stock, a consultant at Astadia was recently diagnosed with lymphoma.  Lymphoma is a life threatening disease which in Karen's case can only be cured through a bone marrow transplant from a genetically matched donor.  Karen is not only a great consultant but more importantly, she is phenomenal mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend.

In an effort to help Karen and others like her, we are encouraging all of you who are comfortable with doing so to register as a potential bone marrow donor.  Paul Kopacki  was kind enough to develop the following web page to support our efforts: http://developer.force.com/bonemarrowdonor.   There you will find additional information about how to get registered and/or how you can donate to the work of DKMS, the world's largest marrow donor center.

Please help us get the word out by encouraging your co-workers, others in our partner community, family, and friends to get registered on behalf of Karen and others like her by visiting the page at http://developer.force.com/bonemarrowdonor

If you would like to stay up to date on Karen's progress visit her website:  http://www.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/609264/.
