  • Partner Enablement Best Practice

    Elay Cohen Dec 8, 2006

Many companies today look for ways to differentiate their channel partner programs while increasing partner adoption. A great partner enablement tool is salesforce.com's Workflow Automation engine.  Consider the following scenario: a partner has registered for your program and they've received an email inviting them to participate in your channel partner program. They access your portal, powered by Salesforce PRM, and they now have recieve qualified leads, deal support, marketing dollars and many more program benefits. With Workflow Automation, you can define rules that result in passing targeted and relevant sales tools to your partners while they are iworking with a customer or prospect. Workflow_rule_image_1 Consider crafting rules and email templates to send partners best practice and sales tools they change a lead status or an opportunity stage. Or a very common best practice is to send the partner a PDF after the partner updates the competitor field on leads or opportunities.   The image in this blog posting highilghts an example of a workflow rule including: criteria, tasks, alerts, trigger types and more. Put yourself in the shoes of your partners and consider how appreciative they'd be to receive an email seconds after they update a lead with information that helps to close that lead.

  • You want me to sign up 1000 partners in 9 months???

    Ainsley Tai Oct 20, 2006

A common concern I've heard from companies is that their partner program can't handle their sales growth. Unfortunately, they find that the more their business grows (good), the more partner recruitment becomes a bottleneck (bad). The issue is scalability: as you find yourself adding new partners, things become more complicated, and simply throwing more people into the mix isn't going to help.

What's great about Salesforce PRM is that it allows you to automate partner recruitment. Customers have found that they can now fulfill their growth potential. In the Dreamforce session linked below, you will hear how Meru Networks, Network Physics, and Phoenix Technologies recruited hundreds of partners in a matter of months with Salesforce PRM.

  • Partner Recruitment Mash Up with Google Maps

    Jamie Grenney Mar 7, 2006

One of Salesforce's Partner Management subject matter experts, Todd Janzen, has created a day in the life for a channel manager trying to recruit more partners. (Thanks Todd!) This demonstration is available for you to review.  Click here to access the demonstration. Besides the business value of being able to more effectively and efficiently recruit more partners using Salesforce, Todd has creatively enabled a real cool feature. Map_2He's created a channel map showing the number of partners that have submitted an application to become a partner. How many of you have wished you could easily create a channel map or white space analysis? He created the channel map using Google Maps. Here is an example of how new partner prospect registrations show up on a Google Map.  Visit the Partner Management feature page for full details on Salesforce.com's Partner Management and Partner Portal solution.

  • Streamline Partner Recruitment with Salesforce

    Jamie Grenney Dec 23, 2005

Many customers today use Salesforce to manage new partner registration and recruitment programs. To this end, companies use Record Types, Page Layouts, Custom Fields, Lead Processes, Web to Lead, Find Duplicates, Lead Conversion, Assignment Rules, Reports/Dashboards and Workflow to streamline new partner recruitment. Here are the steps and the recommended approach to make it happen in your companies. First, create a Record Type called new partner registration. Note that multiple Record Types can be used to support customer leads, partner recruitment, and deal registration business models. Each record type is assigned a Lead Process. Here is an example of how multiple record types with corresponding lead processes are set up in Salesforce.
