  • Dreamforce '08 sessions around Salesforce to Salesforce

    Nov 19, 2008

Customers who attended Dreamforce '08 heard about some of the great momentum around Salesforce to Salesforce. You heard George Hu at the Applications keynote on Nov 4th mention that we've seen a 350% increase in the number of companies using the service and records shared in just the last three months. Based on feedback from customers we've also made the product available free of charge to ALL customers (including Group Edition) with the Winter ’09 release. So all customers can send and accept invitations and share data with other companies using Salesforce CRM at no charge.

Some of you might have attended the sessions in the Channel track. If you did you learnt first-hand from customers who are using the product to drive greater lead conversion rates. You learnt how salesforce is using the product to run joint marketing campaigns with its partners and how global Networks are forming between vendors and partners with the ultimate goal of collaborating real-time on the force.com platform. One session that received rave reviews was around Joint Selling - how Secure Computing and Fishnet Security are driving higher levels of collaboration and closing deals faster since they've started using Salesforce to Salesforce. This was a great session for any customer looking to run a pilot with their top partners. Take a listen and as always if you need any help from the product management team to kick-start a pilot, don’t hesitate to contact us (s2s@salesforce.com)

  • Salesforce Rebrands PRM to Partner Networks

    Sep 9, 2008

You might have noticed we have re-branded "Partner Relationship Management" (PRM) to Salesforce CRM Partner Networks.
    Partnernetworks_3

The reason we did is three fold:

    1. Salesforce CRM Partner Networks more accurately reflects the broader value that our partnering technology provides companies
    2. The success of "salesforce to salesforce" has provided more choice to companies on how to connect, proving that the portal isn't the only way
    3. The release of Salesforce Ideas and  Content for partner communities meant that "social networking" has entered the world of partnering

Transforming to your business partner relationships with unprecendented connectivity and community is what you will accomplish with Salesforce CRM Partner Networks.  We are seeing companies and industries opt in to set up their own Salesforce Networks to connect with their broad range of business partners. Watch for some announcements soon and especially at Dreamforce. We have seen the emergence of insurance networks, high tech networks and even company specific networks. Salesforce Partner Networks is a great step at further helping companies realize the benefits of the network effect.

If you'd like more information about how to get started with your own Salesforce Network please visit our main product page or keep reading the blogs.  We are committed to help you get the most out of your business partner relationships.

  • Professional Edition customers may now send invitations using the Salesforce to Salesforce service

    Mar 14, 2008

I'm excited to announce that starting March 1st, Professional edition customers can send invitations by buying Salesforce to Salesforce (S2S) licenses in addition to UE and EE edition customers. S2S allows companies (e.g. vendors) to collaborate on leads, opportunities and custom objects with other companies (e.g. suppliers, resellers, distributors, ISVs) who are also using Salesforce.com and receive real-time updates on changes to shared records. This service truly demonstrates the power of our multi-tenant platform and is a great innovation in channels and B2B collaboration.

Following is the new packaging for this service:

    - UE/EE/PE editions may send invitations (similar to linkedin invites) by purchasing S2S licenses

    - All editions (except Personal edition) may accept invitations free of charge (e.g. Group/Team edition customer can accept an invitation to connect from PE edition customer)

    - All editions may share records and send/receive updates on shared records

Please contact your AE or CSM if you're interested in using this service or doing a trial.

  • Salesforce to Salesforce launched Dec 5th in NYC and SF

    Dec 9, 2007

    Event_9      Ban5_s2s_logo_7

I am excited to announce that on Dec 5th, we launched our new Salesforce to Salesforce service with much fanfare in a bi-coastal event held simultaneously in New York City and San Francisco.

By all accounts, this event was a smashing success. Our CMO and EVP of Technology did a demonstration of this amazing new technology in front of a packed audience of over 200 attendees in each city with Dell and Doubleclick talking up the service on stage.

For the uninitiated, Salesforce to Salesforce is a new service that will  allow our customers to share leads, opportunities and any custom data (e.g. claims, funds, orders) directly with other companies that are also salesforce.com customers and receive real-time updates on shared information. For example: if a reseller wanted to register a deal with a vendor, and both the reseller and the vendor happen to be salesforce.com customers (any edition) then the reseller can just push a deal directly from their salesforce.com instance to the vendor's salesforce.com instance by establishing a simple, one-step connection. Both sides will continue to have full visibility into the deal and could opt-out of sharing at any time. Since this service is built on the force.com platform, it plugs right into our workflow engine and apex platform allowing our customers to collaborate on both data and business processes.

  • Some Press buzz on the new Salesforce to Salesforce service

    Dec 9, 2007

Here are some links to articles published by some well known websites. I may be a little biased but the press seem to be as excited as I am about the value this service brings to our customers and the potential viral effects of such a service. A couple of quotes from the blogs:

"Salesforce’s advantage is that many companies already use it as their customer relations management software, and all they have to do is turn on a switch, and their data is shared passively with selected partners, without having to do anything…The company says the interface is sort of like Facebook, which lets individuals share personal information to others in their network. You can decide when and how much information will be shared with partner companies. Information is automatically synchronized between companies." – VentureBeat

"From a straight “product” perspective, the most interesting announcement was for the introduction of “Salesforce to Salesforce”, a new development which could revolutionize BtoB partner relationships" - Salesforce Times

"For business it's all about the data, they need to share data of all sorts, billing data, order status data, and reporting just to name a few. That's what Salesforce will allow them to do and if the platform works the way it should it can become THE platform for business integration." - thaguvner blogspot
