When completeing a task under Home Tab/Task - Call Qualify/Subject field can you have what you write in the Subject field also overight/append what is in the Lead Tab/Status field?

I'm doing a preliminary comparison of salesforce.com and MS Small Business Team and am looking for feedback from others that either have experience w/both OR have taken a similar analysis to conclusion. Concerns relate to implementation time lines & costs, relative ease of use & utility, reporting and adoption rates or influences.
